I listen to women like you every day of the week.
Women who say they’re done with certain dynamics playing out in their business but their actions remain devotedly committed to those dynamics playing out.
The point you’re getting stuck at in business is:
the guilt…
the frustration…
the bitterness…
the shrinking…
the looking outward…
These states are holding you back. When you’re in them, it’s as if you have no power to break through.
So you tell yourself you’ve done all you can and taken all the action.
You stay in the feeling of discontent. Silently seething because you know there’s more available to you that you can’t access.
I call BS.
You’ve taken a lot of action but you left yourself exposed in the process.
You built the thing and did the steps, but you didn’t do anything about the power leaks that popped up along the way.
Things like:
Downplaying your (valid) problems or concerns and not wanting to “bother” anyone, leaving you in a constant state of tension, holding and resentment.
Reacting on autopilot to “opportunities” without taking the time to consider if they’re what you want and what will move the needle.
Avoiding what feels like a hard conversation, only to realise you’re left mopping up a never-ending spill.
Submitting in work dynamics and relationships – convincing yourself it’s the best thing for everyone involved.
Silencing your voice and not speaking up for your time, your energy, your values, or your expertise, and allowing others to dominate the conversation or project.
That missing piece in your next layer of expansion isn’t missing. It’s buried under the states you say you hate, you’re done with and you don’t want to put up with anymore.
(But perhaps your shadow is secretly enjoying in the process…)
And until you address those drains on your power, you’ll stay exactly where you are.
That reality should make you feel deeply uncomfortable.
More uncomfortable than excavating the truth of who you are and what you want.
Even if excavating that truth means you have to make some tough business decisions and have some hard conversations.
Have the courage to go there, and you’ll successfully cross the threshold that’s been the monkey on your back for months. Years… Lifetimes.
This is how you go from saying: “it’s just how it is”, where your power is continuously leaking out, perpetuating a constant state of clean-up…
To:
Regaining your sense of power and agency over your own business.
Feeling confident that *you* know the next steps to take.
Being able to access and act on *your* unique desires.
Just like my client, P:
“The way I was working in my business, it wasn’t an equal partnership with my clients. It was them dictating how much of me they could take and I kept giving into what was this cycle of addiction – “this is just what I do”.
Then you realise… I’m totally exhausted and losing my shit.
Working together has been such an eye-opener to all the stuff that was going around my head in self-flagellation and where I was losing power.
All the work I did with you has given me the confidence that validated why I was feeling the way I was and to make changes that I couldn’t justify in the midst of going it alone.”
It’s time to go there…
Book a Connection Call with me to find out how.
